Drama in court as man is given 30 minutes to look for another lawyer …after his lawyer dumped him going to Dubai

A dramatic incident occurred in court when a man facing a charge of assaulting a peace officer passionately begged a postponement of the case claiming that his lawyer had gone to Dubai without notifying him and was already in flight.

The magistrate then granted him 30 minutes to find another lawyer.

The drama occurred when Michael Mlambo appeared before Bulawayo Magistrate Challenge.

Angered by the lawyer’s failure to notify him of his absence, magistrate Mahembe ordered Mlambo to find a new lawyer within 30 minutes.

The magistrate also charged at Mlambo, saying if he did not return within 30 minutes, he would also face an additional charge of contempt of court.
