CONTINUING to cement her name as one of Zimbabwe’s most popular and experienced content creators, Dramatic Miss, real name Thando Nkiwane, recently secured first place in the Responsible Gambling Skit Challenge, walking away with a US$1 000 cash prize.
Hosted by the Lotteries and Gaming Board in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, the Responsible Gambling Skit Challenge began on August 8, with contestants from across Zimbabwe encouraged to upload short skits highlighting the importance of responsible gambling.
Contestants were instructed to upload their skits to their Facebook pages and tag the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and the Lotteries and Gaming Board to ensure their videos were seen and entered into contention for the cash prize.
In the video uploaded by Dramatic Miss, she portrayed a distraught woman patrolling the streets and crying out for money she had lost after being scammed in a pyramid scheme.
The video quickly made the rounds on social media and, like many of Dramatic Miss’s other productions, began to gain widespread traction.
By the closing day of the challenge, Dramatic Miss’s video had accumulated over 120 000 views, more than 1 500 likes and 313 comments, making her the overall winner.
“Congratulations to our Responsible Gambling Skit Challenge Winner. We are thrilled to announce Dramatic Miss as the winner of the Responsible Gambling Skit Challenge. The response from the community was overwhelming,” said NACZ in a post on its Facebook page.
As the winner of the challenge, Dramatic Miss received a cash prize of US$1 000.
“For her incredible effort in spreading this important message, Dramatic Miss will be walking away with a $1,000 cash prize, courtesy of the Lotteries and Gambling Board in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, congratulations,” said NACZ.
Reacting to the post, Dramatic Miss thanked both organisations for recognising her as the winner of the challenge and added that it was time to celebrate her achievement.
