Organisers of Dream Star talent search show have postponed the final of the contest from October 20 to 31.
The final will be held at 7Arts Theatre in Avondale and 16 acts including musicians, dancers and beat boxers will be battling it out for the big prize of $5 000.
The first runner-up will walk away $3 000 richer while the second runner up will get $1 000.
In an interview, the organisation’s spokesperson Rumbidzai Matinanga said this year’s event is going to be bigger and better.
“After going around the country in search of Zimbabwe’s best talent, we are now bringing the best from the country’s big towns to battle it out for the big prize,
“All is now in place for the grant finale and this year the event will be bigger since we have managed to send all the finalists to China for a cultural exchange programme and they learnt a lot of stuff there.
“We are also happy that Dream Star will be showing on ZTV from the start of this year’s season until next year’s finals,” she said.
Finalists have been drawn from different cities including Harare, Mutare, Chinhoyi and Bulawayo.
Dream Star Zimbabwe was launched last year as Zim Got Talent but had to change the name early this year after one local company, Ke Nako Media, claimed ownership of the title Zim Got Talent.
Last year’s event saw Divine Chitubura walking away $3 000 richer after shrugging off a stiff competition pitting musicians, dancers and magicians.
