ZANU PF Women’s League secretary Cde Mabel Chinomona has implored league members to intensify their efforts in driving economic empowerment programmes at the grassroots level to ensure the attainment of Vision 2030.
Addressing the Zanu PF National Executive meeting yesterday, Cde Chinomona emphasised that the collective efforts of the Women’s League are crucial in implementing initiatives that uplift women and foster economic growth within communities nationwide.
“The Women’s League plays a vital role in our economic empowerment programmes.
“We must encourage our communities to engage in various projects to foster economic growth,” said Cde Chinomona.
She stressed that by prioritising grassroots engagement, the league aims to drive significant change and achieve its long-term goals.
Cde Chinomona stated that President Mnangagwa has fostered an environment where every woman feels empowered, underscoring the inclusivity of the Second Republic’s agenda.
“His mantra, ‘Leaving no one and no place behind,’ ensures that women have the opportunity to work for themselves. We, as the Women’s League, feel truly empowered and are grateful to our President.
“We are ready to take action and leave no woman or place behind,” stated Cde Chinomona.

The executive meeting assessed progress and shortcomings made throughout the year, focusing heavily on the economic empowerment programmes initiated by the President.
Beyond economic initiatives, Cde Chinomona challenged the league executive members to play a collective role in condemning gender-based violence and ensuring the restoration of the country’s cultural heritage.
She urged them to actively work towards ending practices that infringe on the rights of women and children, particularly during the upcoming festive season holiday.
“We expect women across the country to monitor their children during the festive holiday to ensure they do not engage in drug and substance abuse,” she emphasised.
To enhance the capacity of the league members, Cde Chinomona announced a significant empowerment initiative involving land allocation.
“We received 44 stands for the Women’s League executive members and 10 commercial stands to be managed by the Zanu PF provincial chairladies.
“The commercial stands are for empowerment programmes for women in various provinces,” said Cde Chinomona.
This initiative was received from Central Committee member Cde Philip Chiyangwa, who confirmed he has availed stands worth US$20 million as part of capacitating the Zanu PF Women’s League.
The Women’s League, which acts as the mobilisation machinery of the revolutionary movement, is positioning itself as the nerve centre of the party’s development mandate.
