Driver collapses, dies at Egodini

A 42-year-old commuter omnibus driver from Bulawayo’s Cowdray Park collapsed and died while queueing for passengers at Basch Street terminus popularly known as Egodini.

He had reportedly complained of chest pains to his colleaguesand they were shocked when he               collapsed and died at about 2pm on Tuesday.

Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Bekimpilo Ndlovu confirmed the incident and said police investigations were under way.

“We are investigating a case of a  commuter omnibus driver who collapsed and died at Egodini on Tuesday at about 2pm.

“He was aged 42 and was plying the City-Cowdray Park route.
“The man was in a queue waiting for passengers when he collapsed,” said Asst Insp Ndlovu.
