GO-GETTING Zifa Southern Region Division One side, Talen Vision, have acquired a top of the range 48-seater team bus that is in the final stages of being assembled and branded in China, B-Metro Sport has learnt.

In acquiring the luxury coach, which according to Talen Vision public relations officer Lovemore Dube, is expected in the country in five weeks, the club could have splashed between US$120 000 and US$140 000.

“We realised that transport is a single huge expense which if not planned for, will be a high recurrent expense to any institution. As we look forward to our continued participation in football in whatever level, we decided to invest in a bus. While it’s a huge capital expense to acquire one, there will be net saving in the future,” said Dube.

He added: We are looking forward to taking delivery of the bus in the next coming four to five weeks meaning come year 2020 basically all our teams — juniors included — will benefit from club transport. The bus will be leaving China in the next couple of days and it has already been branded in team colours.”

The attainment of a team bus by the Trukumb Mining Enterprises-sponsored Division One side comes at a time when former Premier Soccer League champions Chicken Inn were recently presented with their spanking new wheels by Nyaradzo Group.

In August, Zimbabwe international striker Nyasha Mushekwi reportedly splashed US$120 000 on a specially-customised 45-seater passenger bus for his old club CAPS United as a token of appreciation for the role the Green Machine played in his career.

It was reported that Mushekwi’s lawyers, Chambati, Mataka and Makonese wrote to Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Minister, Kirsty Coventry, saying they were requesting a waiver for the bus not to pay duty.

Talen Vision are at the moment involved in a fierce battle with Bulawayo City for the sole ticket to earn PSL promotion and a fortnight ago they gave the first official artistic glimpse of the stadium project they are planning to undertake in Esigodini.

Umzingwane Rural District Council chief executive officer Ndumiso Mpofu said the club was offered four to five hectares of land for the construction of the sporting facility.

Following their 1-0 loss to City last Friday, Vision will be inactive this weekend while Amakhosi make the long trip to Hwange for a date against Moto Moto.
