GUESS who?

B-Metro has identified the man who appeared in pictures initiallyA published by our sister paper the Chronicle after he was hit by a car while drunkenly crossing Luveve Road in Nguboyenja as former Highlanders player Lincoln Siwela.

Siwela played as an attacking midfielder for Highlanders FC and Bantu Rovers before he untimely ended his career in 2010.

In the pictures Siwela is shown beingA picked up by his friends and carried to the nearest clinic in the company of the driver of the car that had a?hita? him but could be seen resisting attempts to seek medical help for him.

A week after the accident, Siwela told B-Metro that contrary to what the pictures suggested he was not drunk.

a?I know its people in my neighbourhood (Njuboyenja) who are spreading rumours that I was drunk the day I was hit by the car and itas not true. As you can see I was not seriously injured and the driver of the car paid for my medical bills at the clinic,a? he said.

After the abrupt end to his football career, Siwela has been in and out of the magistrateas court.

In 2014 he was arraigned before the courts for indecent assault after he grabbed and kissed a till operator at a Bulawayo supermarket.

Charges against him were that the former Highlanders player walked into a city supermarket in the evening of 2 June 2014 and grabbed a till operator Letwin Mashandaas shoulders before kissing her twice on the cheek.

The woman was not amused by the former footballer antics and reported him to the police leading to his arrest.

Siwela blamed evil spirits for his actions before apologising to the court.

He was slapped with a fine of $50 or two months in jail.
