ZIFA’S accounts were adopted last Friday by national association president, Cuthbert Dube saying he would write off debts Zifa owed his companies. The consolidated financial audited statements for the years ended 2011, 2012 and 2013 after deliberations by the assembly at the prestigious Zifa Village and Conference Centre in Mt Hampden near Harare, were given thumbs up by councillors.

Councillors agreed that in the absence of some documents for figures amounting to $700,000 from the Wellington Nyatanga led administration which was booted out in 2010, the issue should be closed.

Dube expressed concern over the association’s financial position but said he was ready to move on.

“We are not happy as the board but we need to move on so that we get the assistance that we require,” said Dube

He said it was time to make the association’s financial position public.

“We should come up with a press statement to the media, to Caf and Fifa regarding our financial position,” said Dube.

He said he would write off some of the debts owed by Zifa to his Buymore group of companies.
