SOUTH AFRICA’S Pretoria University coach Steve Barker is hopeful that his two Zimbabwean recruits will be available when the Absa Premier Soccer League games start. The two Warriors players are already on the books of the Pretoria outfit.

Barker rates the Warriors steely defender Partson Jaure and his national team partner, midfielder, Denver Mukamba highly. He believes Jaure will be the solution to his team’s defensive challenges. His team is eyeing for a respectable finish at the end of the season which starts next week.

Both are yet to play official games.

Mukamba was loaned to AmaTuks for a season by Bidvest Wits and Jaure is from Dynamos.

The AmaTuks coach told Chronicle Sport: “The two Zimbabweans are exceptional players. I believe their huge experience in the beautiful game will give us an edge over our competitors. We want to avoid last season’s poor run at all costs and with the type of players we had, now I can see something special manifesting for the team.

“Mukamba and Jaure are proven and strong players who have both played at the highest level and captained their national team.
“Quite frankly they will add stability to the team and before Thursday Jaure will be with the rest of the team.”

On Thursday AmaTuks will unveil their new players for the team which includes the two Warriors players.

Barker says he is happy with what he has seen of the Zimbabweans.

The duo will officially join another national team player Washington Arubi and AmaTuks goalkeepers’ coach Tendai Tanyanyiwa.

Other players who were once on the Pretoria side’s books are Obert Moyo, Lionel M’tizwa, Obadiah Tarumbwa, David Mkandawire and Dominic Sithole.
