CHICKEN Inn are in the process of assembling a “killer machine” ahead of the start of the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer season.
The ex-league champions have engaged in a massive player recruitment exercise and they have not stopped using their cheque book.
The sole goal appears to be the attainment of an all-conquering machine that will return the glory days to the Gamecocks.
A day after announcing their signing of Cameroonian striker, Ngnowa Hapmo (28), yesterday, the club unveiled Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) player, Sefu Louison.
He joins the Simbisa Brands sponsored outfit after turning out for Lupopo Congo in his home country.
“Welcome to the Gamecocks Sefu. Another International new piecer joins Chicken Inn FC this season,” said Gamecocks through their official social media pages.
Louison (26), plays as a right back and he joins a club that is on an enormous transformation exercise after a sub-standard 2025 season that saw them survive demotion from the country’s elite football league by a hair’s breadth.
Louison’s arrival and that of Hampo has come at a time the Gamecocks have even been signing players from local clubs that include Scottland, MWOS, relegated Yadah Stars and Dynamos.
The players include ever energetic and jovial Vassili Kawe, who was with Scottland, Innocent Musiiwa formerly MWOS and ex- DeMbare Temptation Chiwunga, ex-Hwange and Dynamos goalkeeper, Taimon Mvula.
And it is like Chicken Inn, who lost the services of their former captain Xolani “Lolo” Ndlovu and striker Brian Muza, has assembled a vicious pack of hunting dogs.
Ndlovu is now in the books of Kwekwe based PSL newboys Hardrock and Muza is now with PSL returnees, Bulawayo Chiefs.
After having two experienced centre backs Itai Mabhunu and Mpumelelo Bhebhe, seasoned goalkeeper Donovan Bernard further committing to the club, to probably show that the Gamecocks really mean business this season, they recently embarked on a one week long pre-season camp in the resort town of Kariba.
According to the club’s media officer Brighton Ncube, the camp is expected to conclude tomorrow and they will be travelling back to Bulawayo on Sunday.—@FungaiMuderere
