Sikhumbuzo Moyo, Check Point
OPERATION Dudula leader Zandile Dabula has refused to clear the air over explosive social media claims that she is actually a Zimbabwean.
Ironically, the movement that claims to be ridding South Africa of illegal immigrants, has been blamed for xenophobic attacks directed especially at Zimbabweans, Mozambican and Tanzanians in the neighbouring country.
The 37-year-old activist, who fronts the anti-immigrant movement in South Africa, flatly declined to address the allegations when contacted via WhatsApp by this publication yesterday.
“Thank you for reaching out. I will not respond to rumours,” was all Dabula said before going silent.
Now, questions swirl around its leader, her origins, and why a movement that claims to fight “foreign dominance” appears to have Zimbabwean roots.
