Duo for Germany trials

The invitation comes as a follow-up to the Zimbabwe national women’s soccer team’s tour to Germany in 2011, where they underwent a high level training camp for two weeks and featured in matches against lower Bundesliga sides.

And Warriors coach Dieter Klaus Pagels, who is also the Zifa technical advisor, has organised the trials for the players as women’s soccer is beginning to get some due recognition in this country.

Last year, Mighty Warriors defender Ruvimbo Mutyavaviri went to Sweden and was attached for three months at Kalmar Football Club. The club is home to Warriors midfielder Archieford Gutu and the attachment was facilitated by Gutu’s manager Calvin Nyazema. Only a fortnight ago, the Mighty Warriors returned from the tour of South America where they played two international friendly matches against Uruguay national team as women’s soccer continue to make inroads.

Yesterday, Mufakose Queens goalkeeper Chingawo, said they have secured the Schengen visas required for them to travel to Munich this weekend.
“I am happy to get this opportunity and l am going to do my best and who knows what may happen next. We are still in the off-season break here but in the past weeks we have been in camp and played some games in Uruguay so l believe l am in the right shape and should perform well,” said Chingawo.
