Duration Gold Zimbabwe congratulate Minister Kambamura on appointment

DURATION Gold Zimbabwe, owners of among other assets Athens Mine in Mvuma, Gaika Mine in Kwekwe, Vubachikwe in Gwanda and Royal Family in Filabusi have extended their congratulations to the newly appointed Mines Minister Polite Kambamura on his appointment.

Speaking on behalf of Mr Allan Dolan, managing director, and the entire team at Duration Gold Limited, spokesperson Mr Robert Mukondiwa expressed “the company’s warmest and most sincere congratulations to Honourable Polite Kambamura on his appointment as Minister of Mines and Mining Development for the Republic of Zimbabwe.”

“This is a moment of great optimism for our industry,” stated Mr Mukondiwa. “We are particularly happy to welcome the Honourable Minister at such a pivotal time for Duration Gold. Our flagship Vubachikwe Mine is experiencing a period of welcomed stability, providing the firm foundation from which we have just initiated a carefully planned, phased development programme. The end goal of this ambitious undertaking is nothing less than the transformation of Vubachikwe into a large-scale mining operation by world standards, a project that will bring significant investment, employment, and technical advancement to the region.”

“All this,” he added “as the world prices of the yellow metal rise to record high, bringing hope to mining jurisdictions rich in gold like ours, and directly too, for our economy and indeed our people.”

Mr Mukondiwa emphasized the unique value of the Minister’s professional background. “Minister Kambamura arrives with a profound understanding of our complex sector, not only as an administrator but as a knowledgeable leader with a hands-on mining background. His training and experience as a mining engineer mean he appreciates the practical skills, geological challenges, and precise engineering involved in turning mineral wealth into national prosperity. This practical insight is invaluable for fostering a regulatory and partnership environment that is both sensible and progressive.”

“We at Duration Gold Limited see this appointment as a cornerstone for a strengthened collaboration. We pledge our full support and expertise to the Minister’s office. We wish him tremendous success as we embark together on this critical journey to grow the Zimbabwean economy,” he said.

“By combining public-sector vision with private-sector investment and execution in a true public-private partnership, we are confident that we can unlock the immense potential of Zimbabwe’s mining sector for the benefit of all its people,” added Mr Mukondiwa.

Mr Mukondiwa went on to wish the outgoing minister Winston Chitando all the best in his future endeavours, thanking him for a cordial working relationship during his tenure at the helm.
