Sunday Sermon with Apostle Chisale
GREETINGS beloved nation in the name of Jesus Christ. Psalms 91:1 says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Those who dwell in the secret place shall become prime candidates for the manifestation of God’s power and glory. The secret place is a place of God’s dwelling.
To ‘dwell’ means to take a permanent residence and not to be an occasional visitor. The secret place is the dwelling place of God. The bible says if you seek for me, you will find me with all your heart. God is not found on the surface.
Neither do you look for God but you seek for Him. This involves consistence. The secret place is also your altar. An altar is a place of dedication, communion and worship. It is a place of sacrifice where the visible have an intercourse with the invisible. The secret place is also a place of angelic trafficking. Every man and woman who wants to make it in life must have a secret place with God. The question is, ‘How many believers have a secret place? There are five things you should know about the secret place.
1. It is a place of knowing God.
You can never get to know God without a secret place where you constantly meet with Him. Getting to know God is a process which begins with an encounter to surrender your life to Him. You can never know God outside your secret place. It is in His secret place where God reveals other aspects of His character. This is where we talk about the gift of the spirit, the word of knowledge. It is also when God opens a curtain a little bit for you to know what happened in the past or present. God reveals himself progressively. The word ‘revelation’ means ‘to unveil’. You unveil that which is secret and so it is in the secret place where God unveils.
2. It is a place of transfiguration.
In Exodus 34:29-31, we see how Moses face was transfigured and the reason being he had spent time with God. It’s only those who spend time with God who will have a transfigured face. Those who tolerated you will celebrate you when your face is transfigured. We also see in the book of Luke 9:28-31, that Jesus invited his three disciples to a prayer retreat on the mountain. He prayed and they didn’t. His face was transfigured and the heavens were opened.
3. It is a place of strict confidentiality
When you want to know the secret things of God, they are discovered in the secret place. It is a place where we share our secrets which we cannot share with anyone but God. In Genesis 32 we see how Jacob stole the blessing of his brother. He pretended to be Esau when his father asked his name. When Jacob was left alone wrestling with the angel of God in the secret place, he was asked his name and he replied, ‘I am Jacob’. Some of you have things that are eating you up, things that your pastor, elder, wife, friends do not know about. But thank God for the secret place, where you can tell them to God. No one will hear it, it will be between you and God. You need a secret place to say things. It is a place where you can say to God, ‘I don’t understand this’.
4. It is a place of divine conception
You conceive in the secret place. Prayer and worshipping is having intercourse with God. Your spirit fuses with God’s spirit and that is when divine seeds are released from God. In the last article we said the church is God’s womb on earth. There are two things that are needed in order to conceive; a womb and a seed. Any man or woman of God that has conceived the plans and purposes of God is pregnant in the spirit. So it is a place of giving birth. Thus church that prays, gives birth to the purposes and plans of God in the world.
5. It is a place of protection
The promise of God for those who dwell in the secret place is that they shall be protected. If you want to hide from calamities that are taking place in the world, you must dwell in the secret place. Psalms 31:20 says, “Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.” So if you want to hide from your enemies, dwell in the secret place and the devil will not reach you or pursue you in the presence of God.
