Dynamos stormed into the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals after beating Yadah 5-3 on penalties in the quarter-finals at Rufaro on Wednesday afternoon.
The rescheduled match had ended 1-1 in regulation time with Yadah getting their goal through Prosper Kafelapanjila two minutes after the break before the Glamour Boys equalized 10 minutes before time via the boot of Valentine Kadonzvo.
Dynamos finished the match with 10-man after Donald Mudadi saw red for a second bookable offence heading into the referee Patrick Kalota’s four minutes of added time.
Captain Frank Makarati, his deputy Emmanuel Jalai, Eli Ilunga, Kadonzvo and Emmanuel Paga all got it right while substitute goalkeeper Tatenda Makoni saved one penalty kick.
Jerry Chipangura, Tanaka Chikumba and Blessed Ndereki scored for the churchmen while Ariel Makopa couldn’t beat Makoni.
Jalai and goalkeeper Martin Mapisa walked straight into the Starting 11 from international duty after returning from South Africa with the Warriors yesterday.
But Yadah didn’t have the same privilege as their star Khama Billiat didn’t play after picking a knock in South Africa.
Dynamos will now face Manica Diamonds in the semi-finals to be played early next month as they bid to defend the cup whose prize also comes with a ticket to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.
