Dynamos shoot down Stars

heat in the second half to break the Shooting Stars resistance in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Rufaro yesterday.
Dynamos had gone for three games without a win with their BancABC Sup8r Cup elimination by Motor Action being followed by Premiership defeats to Blue Ribbon and a draw against Black Mambas.

That barren run eventually cost Lloyd Mutasa his job with the former Kiglon coach being axed together with his assistants Masimba Dinyero and Ralph Kawondera.
Pasuwa was then brought back into the DeMbare set up with Tonderai Ndiraya, who was an assistant to Elvis Chiweshe.
DeMbare also returned to their traditional ritual of a goalline prayer before the match.

And at the end of the 90 minutes Pasuwa left a happy man as goals by the returning Cuthbert Malajila in the 26th minute, a Roderick Mutuma penalty in the 70th minute, Murape Murape (86th minute) and Thomas Magorimbo (90th minute) broke the Shooting Stars hearts.
Yet the Wild Boys had been first to find the breakthrough after 20 minutes when James Chitereki took advantage of a mix-up between Dynamos defenders George Magariro and Guthrie Zhokinyi.

Chitereki, however turned villain when he was sent off towards the end of the match.
Despite going down to Chitereki’s goal, the Glamour Boys quickly made amends six minutes later when returning striker Malajila, playing his first match for DeMbare his since his return from Libya, headed home off a fine cross from Thomas Magorimbo.

There was less excitement and few meaningful chances in the opening period that was rather balanced.
Dynamos had one major change in the mould of Malajila who received his clearance last week while they also welcomed back midfielder Tawanda Mparati who had been trying his luck at Sunday Chidzambwa’s side Black Leopards in South Africa. The Glamour Boys then surged ahead in second period when Roderick Mutuma scored from a penalty.

Referee Thabani Bamala awarded Dynamos a spot kick after Tofireyi Sambo handled in the box and the lanky striker confidently stepped up to take the penalty. DeMbare scored the insurance goal when substitute Murape Murape received the ball on the flank and in a piece of brilliance charged towards goal to beat goalkeeper Godfrey Brown.

Pasuwa’s men were not finished yet.
Just when some fans were beginning to leave thinking that they had seen enough, Malajila reciprocated the first half gesture when he set up Magorimbo for Dynamos’ fourth goal right at the death with

the right back making sure in the first minute of added time. Ecstatic Dynamos fans then, once again, showered Dynamos goalkeeper Washington Arubi with cash.
It is fast becoming more of a “Sunday offering” for Arubi.

Despite the big win Pasuwa remained as humble and insisted he had not “changed much at the Harare giants.
“The guys played well. I didn’t do much except for introducing Malajila and motivating the players,” said Pasuwa.

Pasuwa said they would continue working on their team but felt his players had been second to the ball against a determined Wild Boys side.
“We will continue to work hard as players tend to relax after winning by a big margin,” said Pasuwa.

Pasuwa also explained his decision of pulling out Denver Mukamba for Murape as the move had torched boos from the Vietnam stand.
“It is not like Denver and Gutu were playing badly but it was just a tactical change. They hold on to the ball too much at times,” said Pasuwa.

Shooting Stars coach Tonderai Marume was disappointed with his charges who had appeared to be holding their own against the former champions.
“We played very well in the first half and managed to score but lost concentration in the second half. The scoreline does not reflect the performance of the team on the day,” said Marume.
