THE Dynamos FC national supporters chairman, Panus Madziya, believes David Mandigora will fit into Callisto Pasuwa’s shoes and has tipped the popular Harare side for more glory.
Pasuwa quit the club last month after guiding the Glamour Boys to four consecutive league titles.
Mandigora, who was until last month the club’s vice chairman, was appointed head coach to be assisted by Tonderai Ndiraya, Biggie Zuze and Gift Muzadzi.
“We’ve all the confidence that Mandigora will fill the void left by Callisto Pasuwa. We’re confident that the club will continue to dominate the local scene,” said Madziya.
He said Dynamos would be a force to reckon with as the club’s recruitment was going on well with good players on their way.
Dynamos have so far acquired Kelvin Bulaji, Obey Mwerahari, Godknows Murwira and Dominic Chungwa. The Harare giants have also targeted Hwange’s Evans Rusike and Chicken Inn’s Danny Phiri.
“I call upon the team’s followers to rally behind the coaches and the players. What’s needed is for Dynamos supporters to support the team and the technical guys,” said Madziya.
Of the coaches, he said, it was pleasing that all of them were not new faces at the club.
“They are Dynamos sons, they know the Dynamos culture and winning mentality so they’ll hit the ground running. Other than the coach we’ve also retained manager Richard Chihoro, so there’ll be a bit of continuity,” said the Dynamos Supporters Association national chairman.
He predicted a fierce contest for honours with FC Platinum who are under the guidance of Norman Mapeza, one of the best local coaches at the moment.
He said: “We’ll not have it easy though. We are worried about the rise of FC Platinum, they’re one team we could face stiff competition from this year. They are formidable opposition and we’ll have to be equal to the task if we’re to retain the title.”
Madziya said he was looking forward to more people becoming club members and travelling to all the club’s matches around the country.
