DZIVARASEKWA Stadium is set to be a buzz of activity tomorrow when it hosts the cream of Zimbabwe’s music industry and a football fiesta featuring the musicians.

The event’s highlight will be HKD boss Freeman’s triumphant return to the suburb, which gave him a foundation to build his music career.

The award-winning chanter returns to his ghetto as the Prince who clinched two gongs at the 21st National Arts Merit Awards ceremony.

He won the Outstanding Male Musician and Outstanding Album gongs.

According to chief coordinator Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza, everything has been set for the event.

It starts at 9am.

Zimpapers FC will play the first match of the day against Christ Embassy FC. Afterwards, the UZ Legends will take on Drunkards FC.

The biggest match of the day will feature Zim dancehall artists against their Sungura rivals.

After the big match and presentation of medals, there will be a music show which will go on until Sunday morning. Chipaz said the stage has been set for the big event.

“We have done all the groundwork for the 12th edition of the Chipaz Bhora tournament taking place on Saturday. We urge fans to show up in numbers as we are set to make a huge statement as a music stable. We also want to show Zimbabweans that we also have artists who can play football.”

He added: “Besides the fun that we are bringing tomorrow, we want to make a bold statement that we have the less privileged at heart.

“We are glad we have so many partners who have come on board to support us. Christ Embassy Church is one of the sponsors who are going to support us on the day.

“Pastor Ruth, from Christ Embassy, understands our vision and we are glad she will also bless our event.” Events management guru, Wanisayi “Mahwindo” Mutandwa, will grace the occasion in her capacity as a leading female music promoter and philanthropist under the Mahwindo Foundation.

She is set to lead an array of celebrities and socialites who are popular with fans.

These comprise Lorraine Guyo, Mai TT, Annah “Chibaby” Honde, among others.

Controversial preacher Pastor Talent Madungwe is also set to grace the event.

Besides Christ Embassy, Remington Gold, Bike Delivery, Luxe interior, Autohitch Motors and Primus Energy are some of the sponsors behind the event.

The Chipaz Bhora Tournament is a fundraising initiative whose proceeds are channelled to selected charities.
