Dzumbunu appeals for numbers at Saints AGM

“My appeal is for all members to come to the meeting. Saints is a big club whose future activities cannot be presided over by a few people. Members must stand up and claim ownership of the club and this can only be done if people turn up in their numbers and assist the executive in direction setting,” said the man who said he would be stepping down from his post due to business commitments.

Dzumbunu said members should be there to help come up with strategies that can help Saints to quickly return to the Premiership.
Saints were relegated to the Southern Region Division One League after another poor campaign last season.

The most relegated team in the Premiership had made a good start under Willard Khumalo and Agent Sawu last year.
A mid season reshuffle that brought in club legend Ephraim Chawanda did not yield the desired results.

Dzumbunu appeared to have thrown the club a lifeline when he bought the Eagles Premiership franchise at the beginning of last year. This was after successive campaigns for promotion had failed.
Dzumbunu however said despite the setbacks, the Saints brand still had a future.

“I believe if we pull together at the club Saints can rise from the ashes and regain its status as one of the big clubs in Zimbabwe. Our generation cannot afford to let history judge us as failures that let the brand and those before us down.

“It is a challenge therefore to see the blue half of the city flying high once more. I might be stepping down now but will always help the executive in whatever way possible,” said Dzumbunu.
He also promised to help the club pay affiliation and registration fees for this year.
