DAVIS Cup team captain Martin Dzuwa says they have to brace for a tough tie when they meet Bosnia-Herzegovina in Harare next month in the Davis Cup Euro/Africa Group II.
The event is slated for March 6 to 8 at Harare Sports Club and the Zimbabwean team is made up of Dzuwa, Takanyi Garanganga, Mark Fynn, Tinotenda Chanakira, Benjamin Lock and Wayne Black.
Dzuwa and Black have been working together at Harare Sports Club in preparation for the tie while the rest of the players are playing in different tournaments across the world.
“Takanyi has done well, so far he has won two tournaments. Fynn is in Egypt. Benji is playing at college in the US while Tino, who was playing the US, has gone back to Europe,” said Dzuwa.
“Everyone is working and we are supposed to meet for a two-week camp. Wayne is getting fit, he still can play.
“Our opponents are quite tough, two of the players played at the Australian Open qualifiers and the other player played in the main draw and already it’s a tough assignment. Last year they beat Finland but I think, being home, that will make the difference.” said Dzuwa.
