OLRANDO Pirates forward, Terence Dzvukamanja, is walking with a spring in his step these days after netting his fourth goal of the season in a 2-0 win over Richards Bay in the South Africa DStv Premiership on Saturday.
This victory saw Pirates moving into second spot, dislodging SuperSport United, who played out a 1-1 stalemate against Chippa United.
Dzvukamanja scored a brilliant header off Kabelo Dhlamini’s well delivered cross in the 32nd minute.
The Warriors man had last featured for the Soweto giants in their Nedbank Cup assignment against Venda Academy in which he was hauled off soon after his introduction following a hamstring injury.
Monnapule Saleng, doubled the lead on the stroke of full-time to drown the hosts.
Had Pirates’ offensive unit been ruthless enough, they could have won the game by a huge margin.
Dzvukamanja, 28, is showing his class having survived the pressure of the club’s boo boys early in the season.
His contract with the Buccaneers is set to expire at the end of this campaign and negotiations are believed to be underway, with a likelihood that his stay would be extended.
SuperSport United coach, Gavin Hunt, who once worked with him at the now defunct Bidvest Wits, is believed to be interested in the prospect of a reunion with the Zimbabwe international.
Matsantsantsa are home to Onisimo Bhasera and big goalkeeper George Chigova.
Chippa United defender Ronald Pfumbidzai is also reported to have penned a pre-contract with SuperSport United. And should Dzvukamanja’s move materialise, Matsantsantsa would be home to four Zimbabwean players next season.
Meanwhile, Ishmael Wadi was on target for his side JDR Start when they beat 2-0 Cape Town Spurs in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Wadi was introduced in the 56th minute and he doubled their lead in the 79th minute.
The club is captained by Zimbabwe international Temptation Chiwunga.
