ADMIRE Dzvukamanja fired SuperSport United to their first Betway Premiership win of the season when they edged TS Galaxy 1-0 at the TUT Stadium in Pretoria on Wednesday night.
The victory saw Matsatsantsa climb up to the ninth spot on the league standings and they will travel to the Mother City where they are scheduled to take on Cape Town City tomorrow.
The Rockets, on the other hand, are placed 13th on the standings after the defeat and they will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they face Chippa United in the Eastern Cape on Sunday.
The two teams struggled to create clear-cut chances in the opening 15 minutes of the match and Matsatsantsa goalkeeper Ricardo Goss, and his Rockets counterpart Jiri Ciupa, were not seriously tested.
SuperSport upped the tempo after the half-hour mark.
Nyiko Mobbie deliivered a good cross for Dzvukamanja who couldn’t keep his header on target in the 34th minute and the score was 0-0 at halftime.
The Tshwane giants continued to push for the opening goal and they got it in the 63rd minute.
Dzvukamanja was the man who broke the deadlock with a fantastic shot to fire his side to victory.
Coach Sead Ramovic reacted by introducing the attack-minded duo of Dzenan Zajmovic and Sphesihle Maduna in the 69th minute.
However, SuperSport stood firm at the back and ultimately emerged as winners – SuperSport
