Zimbabwe international Terrence Dzvukamanja has pushed himself up the table in securing key numbers that will have an influence in determining his future at the club.
Dzvukamanja has been tormented regularly by some sections of the Pirates fan base through his time at the club but has kept his focus on the job.
Just at the beginning of this season there was even talk that he will be offloaded with all this talk gaining momentum when he played only once (23 minutes) in the opening 15 games of the season.
Yet into the new year, Dzvukamanja has turned himself into the alternative source of goals besides Monnapule Saleng.
The 29-year-old has scored seven goals (plus one assist) in 13 league games.
His appearances have totalled 794 minutes putting his return at 114 minutes per goal and the weight of his goals are in that Pirates have never lost when he has scored.
That scoring average is better than that of the club’s top scorer Saleng who scores every 169 minutes.
Saleng had 10 league goals (plus six assists) from 21 appearances (1690 minutes).
“It is normal for people to say things even if it is critics.
“What matters is how you take criticism.
“I take criticism as motivation because if people criticise then it means I’m not doing something right.
“So, I haven’t silenced anyone but I’m just doing my job,” said Dzvukamanja during the club’s open day last week when asked about how he has dealt with being booed and all criticism levelled against him.
Dzvukamanja is well ahead of all other attackers at Pirates.
