Eaglesvale hold Culture Day

Eaglesvale Junior School

Culture is a beautiful thing that everyone should know. Our school has an outstanding tradition of respecting culture through a cultural week.

Last week Friday we were representing the different tribes found in Zimbabwe. These include the Ndau, Ndebele, Karanga, Manyika, Venda and Tonga.

My class was representing the Tonga tribe. I learnt a lot about the Tonga and their languages and dances. We had a few people from the class talking about the Tonga and I was one of them.

I found out that the Tonga speak chi-Tonga and that they believe in Christianity and African traditions.

Culture Day was enjoyable and interesting. It made us all proud to be Zimbabweans. On the day we wore different attires showcasing the different tribes in Zimbabwe.

Both teachers and pupils had fun. I enjoyed myself because I got to understand the different tribes that were represented.
