Eastern Region’s Renco Mine, Gutu Pirates clash

From Tawanda Mangoma in Chiredzi
ZIFA Eastern Region Division One side Renco Mine will this weekend travel to Gutu to square off with Gutu Pirates in their fourth fixture of the season after a convincing 1-0 home win to end Eastern Stars unbeaten run last weekend.Renco Mine coach Anusa Mwachumwu is optimistic that his side will add more trouble on Gutu Pirates who are still recovering from a 3-0 defeat they suffered away at Sakubva Stadium when they played Three Leaves FC last weekend.

Renco Mine played ZRP Masvingo in their first league match and won 1-0 losing their second fixture in Mutare when Buffaloes Juniors capitalised on a last minute defensive blunder to deny the visitors a point.

Mwachumwu said his side is confident that they will earn promotion into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League this season while defending the Sylvia Dube Cup which they won last year.

“This is Renco Mine FC’s year to shine in the Eastern Region Division One League. We ended Eastern Stars unbeaten run last Sunday and this shows how serious we are this year. We want to defend the Sylvia Dube Cup which we won last year while graduating into the Premier League,” he said.

Mwachumwu said he is raring to go and aims at setting a record in the league after winning a double.
