EDITORIAL COMMENT: Local Development Plan key to Mutare sustainable growth

 

MUTARE City Council’s decision to transform its Central Business District (CBD) is a bold step towards modernisation and economic growth.

However, for this ambitious project to truly succeed, it is imperative that the local authority develops and implements a comprehensive Local Development Plan (LDP).

Such a plan will serve as a blueprint for sustainable development, ensuring that the expansion is, not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional, environmentally conscious, and aligned with the needs of the community.

A well-crafted Local Development Plan will provide a clear vision for the CBD’s future, outlining specific goals, objectives, and strategies for land use, transportation, infrastructure, and public spaces.
