TALENTED Mutare-based youthful footballer, Ngonidzashe Tombo – who turns out for Sakubva United Soccer Academy – is making waves on the global stage representing Zimbabwe at the inaugural 2026 FIFA Under-15 World Cup and Festival currently underway in Baku, Azerbaijan after scoring six goals in the competition’s opening three games.
Tombo netted a quick-fire hat-trick in nine minutes yesterday as the Young Warriors defeated Montenegro 4-1, to add to his earlier tally of the brace he scored against Cambodia and another single strike against Republic of Ireland.
The star’s goals propelled Zimbabwe to victory against Montenegro and Cambodia (3-2), although they fell short against Republic of Ireland (3-5).
The Young Warriors return to action this afternoon against Nicaragua before facing England later in the evening to complete their Group C fixtures.
