ONE of our articles which trended very well was the shocking tale of a man who admitted to performing a bizarre sexual act in which he uses chilli whenever he makes love to his wife.
The story, which appeared in this newspaper on Monday, has drawn immense interest from our readers.
And, the majority of our readers have spoken and want Jack Mukandwe to be ARRESTED.
He admitted to the shocking claims, which were made by his wife, Joyce Garikayi, at the Harare Civil Court last week.
Joyce said the bizarre sex act was compromising her health.
She told the court that her private parts were now reacting and always itching as a result of the chilli that is used by her husband in what he claims is a bizarre way of spicing their sex encounters.
Now and again Joyce said she has been forced to turn him down when he wants to have sex with her because she is uncomfortable with his bizarre tricks.
However, whenever she turns him down, she says he insults her and claims that she was rejecting him because her father’s goblins were the ones sleeping with her.
She said he calls her a prostitute in front of our children and assaults her with an electricity cable each time he is angry.
Joyce says she now fears for her life as her husband has some dangerous weapons and is always threatening to kill her.
We have reported many bizarre cases over the years but this one was different because we have never heard of a man who uses chilli on his wife.
We are not surprised by the angry reaction from our readers because this is simply not acceptable.
Women are not objects who can be abused by their husbands at every turn.
They are people, with the same status as their husbands, and they deserve to be treated with respect.
What Jack is doing to his wife is something which should be condemned by everyone in this country.
This is savage behaviour and has no place in our society.
He is behaving as if his wife is not a human being but an object who should be made to suffer in the worst way possible.
This is a woman who has given him kids and deserves respect and it’s very clear that she is not getting any from her husband.
This is a man who should be there for her even in the worst storms but he is the one who is throwing her into the line of danger.
What we are surprised about is that so far we haven’t heard any voices from organisations representing women condemning this abuse. We thought they would be the ones at the forefront of condemning this unacceptable abuse of one of their own.
We feel this is exactly the reason why women have organisations which champion their cause.
We also believe that the police should also act.
