EDITORIAL : SUICIDE NOT THE ANSWER

CASES of married lovers, who commit suicide when their unions turn sour, are totally regrettable.

As we always say, lovers should leave room for disappointment, when they enter into relationships.

Leaving room for disappointment can help the aggrieved parties to heal and move on.

Love is not worth dying for.

In fact, no one is perfect and we should always learn to control our emotions when we discover that we are dating unfaithful people.

However, most cases which drive people to commit crimes of passion, or suicide, are fuelled by suspicion.

Suspicion can be dangerous if not handled well.

In some cases, people do the unthinkable out of suspicion.

Suspicion is one of the worst crimes, which should be guarded against.

In July’s issue, we carried a sad story of a Zengeza man who was found hanging in his rented house.

He was found with a suicidal note blaming his wife for bedding a self-styled Madzibaba.

Prior to the tragedy, the wife had made a confession that she was cheating with the prophet.

The wife wrote a letter apologising for her actions.

This did not go down well with the husband who decided to take away his life.

By taking his life, the husband has ruined the lives of people who looked up to him.

After finding out that he was dating a married cheat, the Zengeza man should have moved on.

Committing suicide was never an option.

After all, his wife had moved on out of embarrassment and humiliation.

His case shows that we still have weak men in our midst.

After being cheated, and humiliated by his wife, he needed to find someone to consult so that he could deal with this issue.

While forgiveness is easier said than done, the man should have prioritised the future of his kids.

He acted in haste and this loss of life should have been avoided.

People should always put their children first being doing the unthinkable, especially committing suicide.

By taking away his life, at a rented apartment, the man has left fellow co-tenants and the landlord traumatised.

It will take a lot of counselling for fellow co-tenants to heal and move on after his tragic loss at the rented house.

His case shows that mental health issues are real.

Married people should always leave room for disappointment as some partners are cheating.

While being cheated on can be painful, partners should not die for love.

People should have the guts to move on when their unions are not working.

Hanging onto something, which is not working, can be tragic and can be a sheer worst of time.

Married couples should prioritise dialogue and counselling when their unions face challenges.

Relationships, which are not working, should be terminated.

It should never end in a disaster like what happened with the man who hanged himself because of the challenges he was facing.
