Phakamani High School in Plumtree, Matabeleland South, Mangwe District is set to host an anti-drug campaign today at Dingumuzi Stadium, utilizing entertainment strategies to effectively engage its target audience.
In a bid to educate and entertain, Phakamani High School has enlisted the services of the esteemed edutainment troupe, Indonsakusa ‘The Morning Star’ from Bulawayo, to spearhead the campaign. This highly anticipated event, set to unfold from 2 pm to 5 pm, boasts an impressive guest list, including dignitaries from the ZR P and ZPCS, who will converge to impart valuable insights and perspectives on the perils of substance abuse
Under theme “Dangerous Drugs: A Cancer Within,” Phakamani High School is set to deliver a life-changing message to the youth and parents of Plumtree, shedding light on the devastating effects of drug and substance abuse addiction.

“Our music carries strong, meaningful messages that align perfectly with topics like this. We specialize in edutainment, and people love us for it. That is why we were chosen to perform at this event,” said Oscar “Thobela” Siziba, group leader of Indonsakusa.

The group has prepared to train other musical youth groups and school learners before the main event.
Mr Norman Nleya, the event organiser and teacher from Phakamani High School said “Drugs and substance abuse are not only topical but they are a reality in our various homestead, most parents have lost their kids through drugs ! Hence the reason to host this event.
He added that there will be lots of entertainment from local youth and from the renowned Indodakusa with various speeches from ZRP, ZPCS and other stakeholders.
“We intend to take this campaign outside Plumtree.” Said Mr Nleya.
With an enrollment of nearly 1 000 learners, Phakamani High School is a hub for youth development in Plumtree. Many of the town’s young people have passed through its gates, making it a significant influence on the community’s future.
