press conference held by al-Nour Party over a decision taken on Sunday by President Mohamed Morsi to dismiss presidential adviser for environmental affairs Khaled Alam-Eddin.

Zarqa said his resignation came as a response to the way the presidency run the country’s affairs and the way it dismissed Alam-Eddin, who is also a member in the Salafist party.

Presidential sources told Al-Jazeera news channel on Sunday that Morsi sacked Alam-Eddin after reports said the latter attempted to exploit his position for personal gains.

Speaking at the conference, Alam-Eddin denied such “unfounded” reports, saying that he “hasn’t yet gotten any amount from his salary.”
