The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) is working on innovative solutions to the environmental challenges being faced by the country.

Speaking at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show yesterday, EMA communications officer Mrs Joyce Chapungu said as an agency they are currently working on innovative solutions to environmental challenges faced in the country.

EMA’s theme for this year is: “Green Technology, Innovation and Modernisation, Adopt, Accentuate and Accelerate.”

“We are currently working on innovative solutions to the environmental challenges that are currently faced by the nation which include climate change, pollution and land degradation among others. These solutions should be driven by green technology that does result in pollution and degradation of the environment.”

“This year’s show is vital in that it gives us the opportunity to clarify the innovative solutions for ecological challenges to the public and educating them the importance of green technology which results in a green economy,” said Mrs Chapungu.

She said the innovative solutions will also help communities to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change.
