The Environmental Management Agency Laboratory (EMAL) will continuously improve the effectiveness of its management systems to complement efforts to protect the environment, EMA’s environmental and education manager Mrs Amkela Sidange has said.

She was speaking during a media tour of EMA’s main laboratory in Harare.
She said the agency was striving to meet international standards in line with the country’s vision 2030 agenda.
“As a country we are looking towards vision 2030,” she said. “We want to ensure that we are contributing to the vision, which seeks to see the transformation of the country into an upper middle income economy by 2030.

“Therefore, it means the arms of the Government must try as much as possible to feed into that vision and the role of this laboratory is in tandem with it.

“To achieve this, we use state-of-the-art equipment, validated test methods, trained and competent staff and ensures that all personnel practice professionalism by adhering to best practices.”
