BULAWAYO Metropolitan Cricket Association First League log leaders, Emakhandeni Cricket Club face off with winless defending champions Bulawayo Athletic Club at Queens Sports Club this morning.
Emakhandeni have won four of the five matches they have played this season and are on top of the log with 32 points. The only defeat for the Ainsley Ndlovu-captained Emakhandeni was inflicted upon them by Queens two weeks ago. It is a sorry sight for BAC who are rooted to the bottom of the log with just two points, having been beaten in all the five matches they have played.
Second-placed Queens Sports Club are away to the National University of Science and Technology at the Heath Streak Academy. Queens have to do without suspended Christopher Mpofu who has been slapped with a two-match ban by BMCA disciplinary committee.
Meanwhile, the Ugandan national cricket team arrives in the country today for four 50 over fixtures and one Twenty20 encounter. The matches are lined up for 4 to 9 November before the Ugandans depart on 10 November.
Uganda will face Harare Metropolitan Cricket Association clubs, Takashinga and Old Hararians as well the Zimbabwe Under-19 team that is gearing up for next year’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
