Embark on voter mobilisation, Zanu-PF urged

Provincial Co-ordinating Committee meeting held in Harare on Tuesday, the revolutionary party’s deputy secretary of finance, Cde Charles Tavengwa, urged members of the Politburo to unite.
He said they should put their differences aside and work towards ensuring the party’s victory in the forthcoming elections.

“This is a year for elections and as Zanu-PF we are taking it as a year of victory that means we are going to kick the MDC out of government,” said Cde Tavengwa.

He urged members of the Politburo to encourage people to exercise their voting rights by participating in the elections.

Cde Tavengwa challenged Politburo members to work as a team and shun factionalism.
Factionalism, he said, could destroy the party if allowed to go on unabated.
He lashed out at corrupt MDC councillors who were enriching themselves instead of addressing the country’s problems.

Cde Tavengwa said this time people had seen for themselves that MDC councillors did not have the people at heart but were only after enriching their families.

“These councillors have abandoned their duties, instead of confronting the people’s problems they are busy buying expensive cars for themselves neglecting the people who voted for them,” said Cde Tavengwa.

He urged the youths to utilise the benefits they were getting through the indigenisation and empowerment programmes being spearheaded by the Government.
