Antilles through its cuisine, dance and music. Valentin Munyawiri (Santiago) and the and the Cuban Medical Brigade treated guests to dance, music and Cuban cuisine, bringing back good memories to Cuban nationals resident in Zimbabwe.
Among the dishes sampled were the traditional roast pork, congrí rice, black beans, fried plantains, fried ribs, among others. After a sumptuous dinner, guests had the time of their life when they went through an array of Cuban dances, which were aptly taught by a couple.
The couple went through the traditional Cuban rhythms.
Surprisingly, the whole group quickly caught up in the dancing frenzy under the rhythm of the song by Adalberto Alvarez “And What do You Want to Get From Them”.
Those who did not think that their footwork was enticing enough, decided to try their luck on the Casion.
The Sample of Casino showed the African footprint in our culture with the representations of movements of African deities as Ogun, Obatala and Yemaya.
Among the guests were Cuban Ambassador to Zimbabwe Enrique Prieto López, Tahimi Suarez Rodriguez III, secretary of the embassy, Reinier Rodríguez Suárez, administrative officer Reymundo Garcia Figueredo, national co-ordinator of the medical brigade working in this country, as well as Zicuma and Zicufa representatives.
