A LOCAL church, the Redeemed House of God will next week host a convention to dedicate and celebrate the completion of the house of God, the Empowerment Centre, with renowned ministers of the word Bishop Tudor Bismark of New Life Covenant Church and Dr Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly of Lagos, Nigeria, expected to grace the occasion.

The convention will run from October 24 to October 27, and will be held at the Empowerment Centre, Stand No. 14432 Seke Road, Graniteside in Harare from 5:30pm to 9pm. Founding Pastors Nick and Eunicah Ohizu are hosting the event.

The convention is of national importance since the Empowerment Centre is the first church to be built by a Nigerian missionary resident in Zimbabwe. The dedication will begin with a conference from October 24 to October 25 with guest speakers Dr Bakare and Bishop Bismark whose immense wisdom and anointing expected to bring about a great move of God in the city.

The actual dedication ceremony will take place on October 26 from 2pm to 6pm with Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Walter Mzembi giving the keynote address.

The occasion will also be attended by most of the city’s pastors, top entrepreneurs and business executives, Christians from all walks of life and others.

Praise and worship will be led by well-known local and international gospel artistes that include Mudiwa and Sebastian Magacha; I.j Ohizu from Houston Texas, the Call to Worship choir, the Empowerment Centre Praise team and many more.

In an interview with The Herald, Pastor Ohizu said that the conference theme “All things are possible” taken from Mark 9:23 is meant “to commemorate the truth that the location of this temple was once a dump site covered in a swamp; a piece of water located along Seke road, which no one ever thought would become something of such relevance.”

The Herald also learnt that God gave the place to Pastor Nick in 2005 and from then on, he has never relented to “get something good out of that Nazareth”.

“We are not just celebrating the completion of the temple but are asserting the truth that with God, all things are possible. With God, a church can rise from a dumpsite. Seeing that it is possible for God to do this with a dump site, the Empowerment Centre becomes a place where God takes ordinary people and makes them extraordinary; where God takes losers and makes them winners; where God takes the sick and makes them whole; where God takes the poor and makes them rich and where God takes the conquered and makes them more than conquerors. All these are made possible not by man, but by the power of the Holy Ghost”, said Pastor Nick.

He added that the Empowerment Centre, “is the only church located by the city gate, hence we are given the mandate by God to spiritually monitor and control the spiritual atmosphere of the city thereby keeping the evil out and letting the blessing in.

Therefore, the Empowerment Centre is the house built by God for the people of Zimbabwe and the city of Harare in particular to enable the people of God restore the glory of this nation through the power of the Holy Ghost.

It is an excellent masterpiece built with the purpose of creating an atmosphere for wholehearted worship and undiluted word. It is also the house where people will be empowered to become champions and live a divine legacy in our nation just as the scripture says ‘and you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you” (Acts 1.8).

Pastor Nick said the conference was open to everyone and admission was free. He invited both old and young to join them celebrate the goodness of God and at the same time to empowered by God to be the best for Him.

“The power of God will be present to change life and bless people through miraculous occurrences. For all those who are looking for a place to find God and a place to call a family Church, look no further because the Empowerment Centre of the Redeemed House of God will satisfy your spiritual thirst and over-satisfy your comfort. I will be looking forward to celebrate with you”.

The event will end on Sunday October 27 with an anointing service by the guest speakers, Dr. Bakare and Bishop Bismark.
