Zanu-PF National Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona is in Lupane, Matabeleland North Province, where she is meeting district chairladies, the Women’s League and members of various affiliates of the party representing women.
She is being accompanied by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Matabeleland North, Cde Richard Moyo, Cde Judith Ncube from Bulawayo Province, Deputy Minister of Housing and Amenities Cde Musa Ncube, National Political Commissar for the Women’s League Cde Maybe Mbowa and Senator Tambudzani Mohadi, among others.
Cde Moyo, who is also the Provincial Chairman for the province, said Cde Chinomona is a tried and tested cadre who stands with the revolution and supports women’s empowerment
“We thank you, as Matabeleland North Province, for gracing us. Since the Second Republic came, we have seen development programmes targeting women. They are doing income-generating projects that have transformed their lives. I gave the women a 300-hectare farm where they must work. We need to work hard and support Women with various projects,” said Cde Moyo.
He said more than 300 boreholes have been drilled in the Province, providing water to the people. He added that clinics, schools, a hospital and roads are under construction through the Second Republic.
“Since 1980, Governors have been working from Bulawayo, but we now have a large Government complex where we work from. Two weeks ago, it was approved that the road, the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls road, be constructed with the help of multiple contractors. We are in awe of the Second Republic,” he said.
Cde Moyo said the Province rallies behind President Mnangagwa to continue with his leadership until 2030 as
Binga, Bubi, Hwange, Lupane, Nkayi, Tsholotsho, Umguza Districts are represented.
