Primary and Secondary Education Minister Torerayi Moyo has urged children from across the country to draw inspiration from the President Mnangagwa’s academic journey, highlighting resilience and determination as key pillars for success.
Minister Moyo said this while addressing the 3 050 children who gathered for the Children’s Party held at Mahetshe Primary School in Maphisa today.
He said despite facing challenges during the liberation struggle, President Mnangagwa remained committed to his education, using his incarceration as an opportunity for personal development.
“Notably, during his period of incarceration, while serving a 10-year prison term, His Excellency demonstrated remarkable resilience and commitment to education by doing his legal studies at Khami Maximum Security Prison between 1965 and 1975.
“He subsequently completed his law degree at the University of Zambia, following his release and deportation to Zambia.
“His Excellency’s educational journey speaks powerfully of resilience, determination and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of education, even in the most challenging circumstances.
“This serves as a clear reminder that no situation is too difficult to overcome when you remain focused on your goals,” said the Minister.
“Your future is bright and full of possibilities.”
