With only six weeks left for the much awaited end-of-year shutdown party set to take place on 27 December, the organisers of the event have revealed that this year’s edition will not attract any foreign act as “only” local artistes are booked to do duty on the night.

The gesture of the strictly 100-percent local artistes’ performance came as a way of honouring fans and listening to their plea which is to give local artistes a chance to shine at such a huge event.

Organised by Harris Entertainment, a premier events and management company in Bulawayo, this year’s edition of the shutdown is poised to transform the landscape of showbiz events and festivals in the city as it has already been termed Bulawayo’s largest showbiz event of 2024.

Set to be held at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) hall 3, the highly awaited concert promises a diverse array of entertainment featuring some of the nation’s top artistes.

Among the notable acts set to perform are renowned music stars Jah Prayzah and Winky D.

Additionally, the lineup includes popular artistes such as Killer T, who has captivated audiences with his hit song “Kanandanyura,” as well as Hip Hop sensation Saintfloew, Enzo Ishall, Nisha T, Master H, and Freeman, the HKD boss.

Artistes who will represent Bulawayo are Mzoe 7, DJ Nospa, Kotwane Hikwa, Ma9Nine, DJ Stout, Sandra Ndebele, Victor Bravo, and Jaycee – known for his hit “Ungayithi Vu” amongst others.

People’s favourite Rhumba ensemble Insimbi Zezhwane were also announced as one of the main acts, something which has been positively received by the people of Bulawayo.

Tonderai Byron Rice, the founder of Harris Entertainment, expressed confidence that this year’s event will surpass previous editions, aiming to be the highlight of the festive season.

He emphasised the importance of learning from past experiences which ensured a greater representation of local artistes.

“When we hosted the ZITF shutdown, we raised the bar so high such that when people see us organising an event they don’t expect a lower standard. As we approach the festive season, we have once more crafted the biggest party for December, which is the end of year Shutdown.

“On this event, we went big and the strictly local line-up that has been unveiled is proof that we value our clients as we aim to give them quality entertainment for their hard-earned money.

“We are very aware of the weather elements that characterise the festive season and to avoid disappointments, we settled to host the gig as ZITF hall 1 – a venue that will protect our patrons as well as our sound system from bad weather elements,” said Rice.
