ENGINEER Collins Takunda Mnangagwa has been recognised for his contribution to socio-economic transformation and community empowerment after winning the Leadership in Socio-Economic Development and Community Empowerment accolade at the Community Builders in Africa Awards held in Harare on Friday.
The award follows closely on another recent honour, where barely a week earlier, Eng Mnangagwa was named among the top 40 under-40 project managers in Zimbabwe by the Chartered Institute of Project Management Zimbabwe (CIPMZ) at a ceremony in the capital.
This latest recognition highlights growing appreciation of Eng Mnangagwa’s leadership in business development, project governance and community-centred initiatives.
As head of a diversified group with interests in mining, logistics and energy, Eng Mnangagwa was commended for driving strategic growth, while supporting initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods in communities.
Awards organiser and Community Builders in Africa Awards president, Mr Kudzai Mukuku, commended the award winners for their contribution to the development of stronger African economies, highlighting that no nation can develop without the dedication of its hard-working citizens.
“As Community Builders in Africa Awards, we celebrate all patriotic and progressive citizens who are giving their all towards the development of Africa,” he said.
“Beyond commercial expansion in business, we equally value those corporate social investment interventions that are making a difference in the lives of the marginalised. We congratulate all the winners and encourage them to continue working towards a better Africa.”
Stakeholders noted that Eng Mnangagwa’s leadership approach balances commercial expansion with development interventions that focus on disadvantaged and marginalised groups.
Over the years, he has overseen projects that have strengthened communities through job creation, local economic development and targeted social support programmes.
His leadership also emphasises purpose-driven stakeholder engagement, ensuring that community assistance addresses practical social and economic needs.
The double recognition is being seen as a reflection of Eng Mnangagwa’s growing influence in both corporate leadership and community development, driven by strong principles of project governance, execution discipline and impact-focused delivery — key foundations for scalable growth and sustainable development.
The Community Builders in Africa Awards drew participants and winners from countries such as South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Eritrea, Lesotho, Malawi, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe.
