FORMER Zimbabwe youth international Calum English-Brown is set to be deployed to the Dynamos Division 2 side as he waits for his turn to be registered with the senior team in the next window.

The midfielder has been training with Dynamos in the last three months, convincing coach Genesis Mangombe to grant him a contract. He signed a two-year contract with the Glamour Boys.

However, Mangombe said the midfielder, who recently returned home after a stint with English lower tier sides, has to wait a little bit longer after encountering challenges with his reverse clearance; although sources hint that DeMbare had exhausted their slots when the midfielder arrived.

English-Brown has been conspicuous by his continued omission from the DeMbare match day squads for the opening seven games of the season.

Mangombe said he will be deployed to the development side to help him maintain match fitness by playing regularly in the lower league.

“We have English-Brown in our books and at the moment,” said Mangombe.

“But like I said, it’s the ITC. We have got problems in attaining the clearance from his previous club.

“But we are flat out that maybe during the window, we will register him. But at the moment, we are trying also to make sure that he can play in our development side, Division 2.

“If all goes well, I think he will start featuring in the Division 2 side and also gain that game time so that when we reach the window, he is ready to play,” said Mangombe. Before coming to Dynamos, English-Brown had been strongly linked with Simba Bhora after returning home from England where he last played for Taunton Town FC in the English National League South.

A Legends Academy product, English-Brown announced himself in the domestic Premiership as a promising winger with Whawha in the 2022 season.

But he could not replicate the form when he joined Chicken Inn the following season. He played for English non-league side Yate Town on a brief contract before joining Taunton Town.

He chose Dynamos upon his return home.
