Mr LEROY NYANGANI, co-founder of NeedEnergy, is our Entrepreneur of the Week. NeedEnergy is an energy-tech startup leveraging on data science to promote the adoption of solar power and clean energy solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.
Mr Nyangani, a chemical engineer by training, brings valuable experience to solar farm projects. His previous work with MAN and Wartsila have provided him with a deep understanding of utility procedures related to grid connections and capabilities, and connection points.
NeedEnergy’s memeza.ai platform utilises data collection techniques to gather information from various internet devices such as gas and electricity smart meters.
This data is used to create detailed energy usage profiles for distribution grids. The startup then leverages on trained models to identify optimal locations for deploying renewable energy generation assets that meet these specific needs.
Following deployment, NeedEnergy’s platform continues to monitor and manage these assets, ensuring their performance and power output.
