Interpath Medical Laboratories proprietor Dr Henry Dandadzi has set his sights on impacting the next generation of entrepreneurs after landing yet another national gong for excellence in business management.
Dr Dandadzi, who has won several national business excellence awards over the years, was last week awarded the 2024 first runner-up Outstanding Young CEO at the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network awards.
The honour is in recognition of the manner he has run his business enterprises straddling a cross-section of economic sectors including medical, real estate, agriculture, and financial services among others.
With a business model anchored on excellence in service over profit, Dr Dandadzi says he is honoured by the national recognition he has gotten over the years and his contribution to national economic development.
However, Dr Dandadzi told The Hearld, the biggest honour lies in making a lasting impact in other people’s lives.
“This award, just as has been the case with several others we have won, is a huge source of pride and honour which gives us the edge to want to continue excelling in our business paths,” said the medical pathologist,” he said.
“But while I continue running my portfolio, the next challenge for me is to try and make a positive impact in the lives of would-be entrepreneurs in search of a breakthrough.
“I am hugely inspired by billionaires like Strive Masiyiwa and Bill Gates who, over and above running their companies successfully, have invested heavily in helping others through several initiatives that include scholarships and business start-up hatchery schemes.
“It is something close to my heart and is the main contributory factor that inspired me into a micro-financing business where we have excelled in rescuing suffocating businesses and given start-ups the much-needed financial launch-pad.”
He said that he obviously cannot do anything close to what billionaires like Masiyiwa and Gates have achieved but he finds solace in every individual given a platform to contribute to national economics.
“The same belief I have in helping the next entrepreneur has also pushed me to invest in education where together with my team we are fine-tuning and soon to launch a world class school which I think will set the trail ablaze,” he said.
“You know education is the single largest tool with which a nation can secure its future and with which even the downtrodden can escape their present circumstances, so we will be making an entrance in that arena very soon.”
A Chemical Pathologist by profession, Dr Dandadzi is the founder and director of Interpath Medical Laboratories, and also owns Realty Microfinance Private Limited.
He is also into tobacco and horticulture farming.
