Entrepreneurial actress launches second car-wash

Last year, versatile author, scriptwriter and actress Nonduduzo Ncube diversified her income streams by venturing into the car-washing business. Barely six months into the venture, she is already eyeing an expansion drive.

“Noe’s Carwash” located in Donnington West (next to Trek Garage), Bulawayo officially opened its doors to motorists in December and marked a significant step in Ncube’s commitment to expanding her financial avenues as an artist.

Now, a second branch situated along Masotsha Avenue and Fort Street in the city has opened and fully-functional.
Ncube shared how the car wash has shaped her life.

“The idea of a car wash emerged from my aspiration to have multiple income streams. Personally, it has always been my vision to diversify, perhaps because I had to support my children at a young age and ensure the well-being of my siblings. I’ve always had people depend on me, which has taught me to be in survival mode most of the time.

“The reception has been quite good. People are supportive when they see that you are genuine,” she said.
She said she learnt the hard way that shortcuts are expensive.

“I have tried them and they have cost me a lot. Buying cheap equipment has proven to be costly for me as I have to do constant repairs.”
In Ncube’s own words, her fans can expect to see continued growth from her.

While it is not an easy path, she is driven to push forward. She shared that she is working on an exciting new project, though she prefers not to divulge too many details at this early stage.

Widely acclaimed for her roles in the hit series “Maliwe” and “Usendo”, Ncube has also amassed a significant social media following. In addition to her impressive literary and acting talents, she has diversified her entrepreneurial pursuits by offering equipment hiring services, including projectors and compactors. —@MbuleloMpofu
