ENTUMBANE continued where they left off when the Bulawayo Pool Association League went on a two-week break by thrashing Falstaff 9-4 at Entumbane Sports Bar on Saturday. They lead the log standings with 42 points. Falstaff failed to avenge their 10-3 first leg loss when they fell again 3-2 in the doubles and 6-2 in the singles in the reverse fixture over the weekend.
John Mahachi, the Entumbane coach is convinced his side can maintain the pole position to the end of the season even though Kings are providing stiff competition with 39 points and a game in hand.
“They offered some better resistance this time as results are different from the first leg, so we did our best as we were trying to stay at the top of the log until the end of the season though the competition is stiff, said Mahachi.
Kings trashed Golden Inn 9-4 to keep the title race on in the second half of the season.
Gold and Black won 10-3 against Heroes as Raylton thrashed Extreme 8-5 while Skittle Inn edged ZRP Central 7-6.
The game between Mnethi and Nkulumane was postponed.
