adminBAYERN Munich manager Pep Guardiola has suggested that it may be two years until he manages in the Premier League.
The Spaniard, who is leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign, has made no secret of his desire to manage in England’s top flight. However, it was widely expected that he would make the move to the Premier League in time for next season.
Now, however, Guardiola has suggested that he may be prepared to wait for the right opportunity to arise.
He said, as reported by FourFourTwo: “When I sign a contract I will announce it immediately.
“Maybe it will be two years until I will coach a team in England.
“I am very happy about my experience in Munich. I am working until my last second here.
“After that, I will go home and wait to see if it is possible to move to England or not. If it’s not, then I won’t.”
The general assumption in both the British and German media appears to be that Guardiola will end up replacing Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City.
However, the fact that Guardiola could wait two years before moving to England lends credence to claims that he may eventually take charge of Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger’s current deal set to expire in the summer of 2017.
For now, Guardiola is very much focused on finishing the season strongly with Bayern Munich.
His side, who have created 267 chances in the league this season, are currently eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.
Bayern, who have scored 46 goals in Germany’s top flight this campaign, are also still active in the Champions League and will face Juventus in the Last 16.- Squawka.com
