Epworth robber jailed

A HARARE man, who waylaid people and robbed them of their valuables has been jailed for three years and eight months.
Godfrey Kajanda (26) of Overspill in Epworth was sentenced to five years, but one year was suspended on condition of good behaviour.
Two months were also suspended on condition he restitutes US$73.
The court heard that on September 12 at around 1pm, Mathias Basira was on his way from Arcadia to town along a footpath when Kajanda approached him.

He produced a knife and ordered him to surrender everything on him.
Basira resisted and a scuffle ensued.
Basira sustained a deep knife-cut on his hand as he wrestled with Kajanda.
