Zimbabwe Youth Fellowship Trust (ZYF) in partnership with the Zimbabwe Youth Council encouraged young people to stop abusing drugs, and instead join their courses which help mould them into good, responsible citizens.
ZYF is a youth organisation under God’s Generals International Forum Church.
Speaking at a pastors’ ordination on Saturday, Pastor John Kwaramba said the main aim of ZYF is to mould the youths into professionals by instilling in them a new mindset.
“We now have a big challenge as a nation, and it’s time to find solutions that will help our children.
“We are losing a huge number of young children due to drug abuse and it’s high time as a nation we fight for the future of our children.
“We are trying to help young people with the Zimbabwe Youth Council. We train and educate youths in different courses that will help them become professionals such as nurse aide training, mortician and midwifery so that their minds are always occupied,” he said.
Rumbidzai Mushayi who recently completed a nurse aide course encouraged other young people to refrain from drug abuse and equip themselves with certain skills.
“ZYF has transformed my life, so I want to encourage people who are still doing drugs that it’s never too late to change.
“We as young people want to be good leaders of tomorrow rather than being known as a generation that abuses drugs,” she said.
