While the countryas national broadcaster has been shunned by many people of his age due to perceived poor quality programming, suave presenter, socialite and MC Arthur Evans is now one of those leading the way in showing that ZBC can be modern and attractive.
The a?Acea?, as the eloquent and elegant Evans is popularly known, is now one of the faces that are leading ZBCas revival of Bulawayoas Montrose Studios, as he now presents the news from the broadcasteras Bulawayo station.
Evans is the face of the team that presents news bulletins from Montrose every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
For Evans, the move is one that needs to be applauded as it will go a long way in making sure that Montrose Studios stays up and running, which serves the larger purpose of re-energising ZBC which in the past decade or so seemed to be in dire need of a shake-up.
a?For a while now you must have observed that we did not have anything coming from Montrose Studios. So this move is important because it just puts Montrose back on the forefront and gives viewers an opportunity to see content coming from the City of Kings,a? he said.
Evans added that the move for him to work for the national broadcaster was not a stop-gap measure but something permanent.
a?I wonat be presenting any current affairs programmes but news bulletins only. Itas not something that I am just pursuing in the short term as I have a permanent arrangement with ZBC,a? he said.
Evans said that this was not his first dance with the national broadcaster, as he had worked with ZBC before three years ago.
a?This is actually not my first time because back in 2013 I was also working at ZBC and even back then I was a newsreader too,a? he said.
Turning to his TV talk show which is yet to debut on Zambezi Magic, Evans assured fans that it would be debuting soon.
a?It is looking very good. We are in the post production stage and I must say that I am amazed at the work that we did.
As soon as it airs I have no doubt that viewers will be equally impressed,a? he said.
